In the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 match between Gujarat Titans (GT) and Delhi Capitals (DC) at the Narendra Modi Stadium, the former’s pacer Ishant Sharma felt uneasy while bowling his spell. Amidst Ahmedabad’s scorching heat, the lanky pacer looked exhausted. However, heat waves couldn’t shatter the 36-year-old’s confidence as he went on to bowl a frugal spell for his team. Bowling three overs, he splurged only 19 runs and grabbed the wicket of Donovan Ferreira. Heat waves failed to impact Ishant’s performance but affected his temper as he was seen having a heated exchange with Ashutosh Sharma in the penultimate over of Delhi’s batting innings.
From the match, Ishant’s image is getting viral on social media. In the picture, he can be seen sitting outside the boundary line with his head covered by a wet towel to avoid dehydration effects. Ishant’s picture has amused netizen as some also created humorous memes using his photograph. An X user named Viraj edited Ishant’s picture and reminded folks of a famous Glucon D which used to be broadcast on television a few years back. The user posted the picture and wrote, “Glucon D ad got real #GTvsDC."
GT pull off massive target with ease
Pursuing a target of 204, GT batted courageously after the early departure of their captain Shubman Gill, who departed in the second over of the innings after scoring only seven runs. Following his dismissal, Sai Sudharsan and Jos Buttler batted extraordinarily and stitched a 60-run stand for the second wicket in just 35 balls.
Sudharsan went back to the dugout after hitting 36 off 21. Sherfane Rutherford, who came to bat as an impact player, racked up after accumulating 43 off 34. Buttler took DC's bowling unit to the cleaners and went on to notch up an unbeaten 97 off 54. His innings played an instrumental role in helping GT bag a seven-wicket win. The England stalwart also became the player of the match for his spunky knock.
