Sven Ulreich is a German international goalkeeper, who plays for the Bundesliga giants Bayern Munich. The 36-year-old has been a part of Bayern, since the time he made a move from VfB Stuttgart in the 2015-16 campaign. In 2020, Ulreich made a move to the second division Bundesliga club Hamburger SV and was a permanent goalkeeper in the team after signing a three-year contract with them. However, the German international's contract at the club was terminated prematurely and he returned to Bayern in the year 2021. 

The 36-year-old has been a regular backup goalkeeper for the Bundesliga champions. On Tuesday, July 29, FC Bayern took to their social media to announce the extension of Sven Ulreich, which will now keep him till 2026. The German international has made a total of 103 competitive appearances for FC Bayern since the time he has joined the club. During his tenure, the goalkeeper has won the Bundesliga nine times, the DFB Cup three times, the DFL Super Cup six times and the Champions League and UEFA Super Cup once each.

The Sporting Director of FC Bayern, Max Eberl was delighted on extending the stay of the German goalkeeper. Speaking after his signing, Eberl said, "Sven Ulreich is reliability personified: he delivers what he promises - in the truest sense of the word. Characters like him are good for any team. We're delighted he'll be spending another season with us."

FC Bayern are keen on continuing their form in the Bundesliga and are looking forward to defending their title. FC Bayern are looking for potential signings which could boost the squad. According to recent reports, Lus Diaz has joined the Bayern Munich camp from Liverpool, and is set to play a crucial part in the upcoming season. Bayern will also look forward to having a long run in the Champions League in the second season of Vincent Kompany.
