Team India had a rather disappointing end to their T20 World Cup 2022 campaign as the Men in Blue were knocked out of the tournament after losing to England in the semifinals. The Rohit Sharma-led team lost to England by ten wickets as they failed to break the opening partnership between Alex Hales and Jos Buttler. The two English batters hammered every bowler they faced.

Neither the pacers nor the spinners could create any trouble for Buttler and Hales. But the story could have been slightly different if India had a leg-spinner to attack with. Nevertheless, it was not the case and India lost it. But the fans are not able to digest the fact that Rahul Dravid and Rohit Sharma decided to bench Yuzvendra Chahal after seeing Adil Rashid turning the fortunes around for England in the middle overs.

As Adil Rashid bagged the wickets of Suryakumar Yadav, Mohammad Haris, and Babar Azam at the expense of 42 runs in his eight overs in the semifinal and the final. The leg-spinner also bowled a maiden over in the T20 WC Final, leaving everyone stunned. With Rashid doing the trick for England, Ayaz Memon took a dig at the Indian team management.

Memon posted a tweet and pointed out how important leg-spinners are in T20Is citing Rashid’s performance. “Adil Rashid has been sensational, in the final as he was in the semis against India, highlighting the value of leg spinners in this format, particularly on Australia. Pitches. Guess which team consigned its leg spinner to the bench for the entire tournament?” tweeted Memon.

A few users also agreed to this tweet from Memon saying that India made a blunder by not playing Chahal.
