Former India spinner Harbhajan Singh, who is in England currently for the World Championship of Legends (WCL) 2025, has reportedly withdrawn his name from the contest scheduled to be played between India Champions and Pakistan Champions at Edgbaston in Birmingham on July 20. Political leaders and Indian citizens have raised questions on the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) for not taking action against players, who are gearing up to record their presence in the contest to be played against Pakistan Champions.

Following the Pahalgam terror attack in April, the Government of India imposed restrictions on the social media accounts of artists, cricketers, and several influential figures. On social media, netizen are expressing ire over ex-India players getting ready to play against former Pakistan stalwarts. Amidst these developments, RevSportz has asserted that Harbhajan, who is also a Rajya Sabha Member of Parliament (MP) from Punjab through an Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) ticket, has pulled out of the upcoming clash.

Pathan brothers are also unlikely to show up in WCL 2025 clash against PAK

RevSportz has learnt that besides Harbhajan, Yusuf Pathan and Irfan Pathan have also decided to stay away from the upcoming WCL 2025 match. Following the Pahalgam attack, Harbhajan and Irfan dropped social media posts and extended support to the family of victims. "My heart goes out to family members of all those who lost their lives in the dastardly attack. This can’t be forgiven," wrote Harbhajan in his post then.

Shahid Afridi, who is captaining Pakistan Champions in the ongoing tournament, had used harsh words against the Indian Army during the conflict between the two nations. "Tum logon ki 8 lakh ki fauj hai Kashmir mein aur yeh ho gaya. Iska matlab nalayak ho, nikamme ho na tum log ki security de nahi sake logon ko (You have an army of 8,00,000 in Kashmir and this took place. It means you are inept and useless, you couldn't provide security to the people)," said Afridi in an interview with Samaa TV.
