With only a few matches left in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 league stage, all teams are fighting for a spot in the top four to advance to the playoffs. While the Mumbai Indians (MI) are hosting the Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) in match number 45 of the IPL 2025, ahead of this clash, England’s Test skipper Ben Stokes was spotted in the MI team hotel.
In pictures and videos going viral on social media, speculations hit the roof of Ben Stokes joining the Mumbai-based franchise. Moreover, several users on X (formerly known as Twitter) claimed that Stokes was accompanied by MI officials when he arrived in Mumbai and the car in which he travelled, also had an MI sticker on it, adding fuel to the fire.

Stokes, who did not register for the IPL 2025 mega auction, is not part of the ongoing edition as he opted to manage his body after being marred with injuries in recent times. During his previous stint, he has played for the Rising Supergiant, Chennai Super Kings and Rajasthan Royals.
However, the speculations are going rife, in reality, the seam bowling all-rounder landed in Mumbai for a promotional shoot for Red Bull. He was spotted with KL Rahul, who is currently part of the Delhi Capitals (DC) setup for IPL 2025, as the duo were part of an interview.
Speaking of Mumbai Indians, the Hardik Pandya-led side had a terrible start to the season, but bounced back in style. They are currently placed fifth in the IPL 2025 points table with five wins from nine games and are on a four-match winning streak. They will hope to continue this momentum as they host LSG at Wankhede Stadium in a return fixture.
