The captain of Chennai Super Kings and the legendary Indian wicket-keeper batter MS Dhoni has hinted that the IPL 2023 might be his last. On April 21, after CSK defeated SRH at home, in the post-match chat, he was quoted as saying, "It’s the last phase of my career." Meanwhile, after Chennai defeated Kolkata at the Eden Gardens on April 23, MSD addressed all the fans who were dressed in yellow shirts, "They are trying to give me a farewell, so thanks a lot to the crowd."

Recently , a startling comment from the CSK coach indicated that MS Dhoni might still be contemplating whether he should retire from the professional sport after the Indian Premier League 2023 or not. This news surely gonna send good vibes among all the MSD fans in India and around the world.

But recently, the coach of the Chennai franchise, Stephen Fleming opened up about the retirement rumours surrounding the 41-year-old and told Hindustan Times, "No, he hasn’t indicated anything."

Notably, Chennai Super Kings lost their previous game in the IPL against Punjab Kings at the M.A. Chidambaram Stadium on the last ball by 4 wickets. CSK set a total of 200/4 for PBKS, thanks majorly to the brilliant 92 off 52 from Devon Conway, which included 16 fours and a six.

In their hunt for a 201-run target, all the batters for Punjab made valuable contributions from start to finish. The opener Prabhsimran Singh made a decent score of 42(24) to start the proceedings, while his partner and the captain of PBKS, Shikhar Dhawan put together a quickfire 28 off 15 deliveries with four boundaries and a maximum. In the middle order, the English international Liam Livingstone came to the party and got 40 off 24 deliveries with a boundary and four towering maximums all over M.A. Chidambaram Stadium to help the Kings defeat the Super Kings in a thriller.

With this tough loss, CSK moved to the number four position in the IPL 2023 points table with five wins and four losses. They are going to travel to Lucknow to play LSG on May 3 in an afternoon encounter.
