10. DC: 257/4 in 2024
Delhi Capitals (DC) engaged in a high-scoring encounter against Mumbai Indians in Delhi on April 27, 2024. Batting first, DC went on to smash their highest team score in IPL as they posted 257/4 in their 20 overs. Jake Fraser McGurk to top scored with a quickfire 84(27) runs, while Shai Hope and Tristan Stubbs also scored quick 41 runs and 48 runs respectively. In reply, MI also gave a tough fight while chasing a big total as they ended up posting 247/9 after the end of their 20 overs and lost the match by just 10 runs.
9. KKR: 261/6 in 2024
Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) went on post one of the highest team total in IPL but ended up losing against Punjab Kings (PBKS) at Eden Gardens on April 26, 2024. Batting first, Phil Salt smashed 75(37) runs while Sunil Narine scored 71(32) runs as KKR posted a mammoth 261/6 in their 20 overs. However, it wasn’t enough as PBKS chased the target in just 18.4 overs.
8. RCB: 262/7 in 2024
Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) went on to smash the joint-highest team total in IPL while chasing but still ended up losing against Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) at M. Chinnaswamy Stadium on April 15, 2024. In reply to SRH”s mammoth 287/3, RCB gave a tough fight with the bat as skipper Faf du Plessis scored 62(28) runs while Dinesh Karthik ended up smashing 83(35) runs. However, it wasn’t enough as RCB could reach 262/7 and ended up losing the game by 25 runs.
7. PBKS: 262/2 in 2024
Punjab Kings (PBKS) shattered all the records and registered the highest successful chase in the IPL in a match against Kolkata Knight Riders at Eden Gardens on April 26, 2024. In reply to KKR’s 261/6, Jonny Bairstow smashed an unbeaten on 108*(48) runs. Along with him, Shashank Singh also ended up scoring 68*(28) runs as PBKS chased the winning target in just 18.4 overs losing two wickets.
6. RCB: 263/5 in 2013
Royal Challengers Bengaluru smashed one of the highest team scores in IPL that remained as the highest total in the tournament’s history for more than a decade. In a match against Pune Warriors India at M. Chinnaswamy Stadium on April 23, 2013, Chris Gayle shattered all the records with his fiery knock of 175*(66) runs as RCB posted a mammoth 263/5 in their 20 overs. In reply, Pune could only score 133/9 as RCB won the match by 130 runs.
5. SRH: 266/7 in 2024
Sunrisers Hyderabad were all over Delhi Capitals in a high scoring clash at Arun Jaitley Stadium on April 20, 2024. Batting first, Travis Head and Abhishek Sharma gave SRH a fiery start with 133 runs for the first wicket in just 6.2 overs. Abhishek smashed 46 off just 12 balls while Head top scored with 89(32) runs. After that, Shahbaz Ahmed gave finishing touches with 59(29) runs as SRH posted 266/7 in their 20 overs. In reply, DC were bowled out for 199 runs in 19.1 overs as SRH won the match by 67 runs.
4. KKR: 272/7 in 2024
Kolkata Knight Riders went on smash their highest team total in IPL in a match against Delhi Capitals in Visakhapatnam on April 3, 2024. Sunil Narine shone with a knock of 85(39) runs while Angkrish Raghuvanshi scored a quickfire 54(27) runs. After that, Andre Russell (41 off 19) and RInku Singh (26 off 8) took charge in middle overs as KKR ended up posting 272/7 in their 20 overs and ended up winning the match by 106 runs.
3. SRH: 277/3 in 2024
Sunrisers Hyderabad broke RCB’s 11-year-old record for the highest team score in IPL in a match against Mumbai Indians at Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium on March 27, 2024. Travis Head and Abhishek Sharma got out after scoring quickfire 62 runs and 63 runs respectively. After that, Heinrich Klaasen took charge of the innings and ended up smashing 80*(34) runs while Aiden Markram gave finishing touches with 42*(28) runs as SRH posted 277/3 in their 20 overs which is now the second-highest team total in IPL history. In reply, MI also gave a tough fight but were restricted to 246/5 and SRH won the match by 31 runs.
2. SRH: 286/6 in 2025
Sunrisers Hyderabad started their IPL 2025 campaign with a bang as they fell short of just one run from the current highest-ever total in the IPL. In their first match of IPL 2025 against Rajasthan Royals at Rajiv Gandhi international Stadium on March 23, SRH posted a mammoth total of 286 runs for the loss of 6 wickets in their 20 overs. Ishan Kishan was the top scorer with his fiery 106*(47) runs hitting 11 fours and seven sixes.
