The Indian Premier League (IPL) is known for its thrilling encounters and high scoring clashes that add more spice in the excitement of the tournament. In today’s modern era of T20 cricket, it is common for a team to cross 200 runs and even more in a 20-over game and we get to see this in every season of the IPL. There are also some matches where a total between 240 to 250 runs is also not safe in IPL and T20 cricket anymore.
However, there are also some matches where the teams couldn’t even cross the 100-mark and failed to play even a full 20 overs in an IPL match.Sometimes, the teams fail to chase a mere target between 120-130 runs in a 20-over game. There are a few teams that have an unwanted record for the lowest score in IPL history.
The most unwanted record for the lowest ever score in IPL belongs to Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) as they were bowled out for a mere 49 runs against Kolkata Knight Riders in IPL 2017. The record was previously held by the inaugural champions Rajasthan Royals for eight years as they were thrashed for 58 runs against RCB in IPL 2009.
Getting bowled out for such a low score could be a big setback for any team in the modern era of T20 cricket where we see plenty of runs being score in just a few overs. In the following listicle, we will have a look at the top 10 lowest scores in the history of the IPL.
