I was blown away to see the energy on the ball: Morkel on Bumrah’s return
As the team continues to toil hard ahead of series, Team India’s bowling coach, Morne Morkel shared a positive update around pace spearhead Jasprit Bumrah. The former Protea international said that he was “blown away” by Bumrah’s rhythm in the net sessions. It is to be noted that the 31-year-old returns in Indian colours after recovering from a back injury. However, he will have to be managed carefully in order to prolong his career.
Speaking on the sidelines of Team India’s practice session, Morkel said, "Bumrah knows how to get himself ready, he knows how to prepare. I was blown away to see the energy on the ball the last three days. That's very exciting to see. I'm happy his body is in good shape at the moment. We'll manage him with that. We'll be smart with him because he's obviously key for us, but in terms of the first three net sessions, lot to be excited watching him bowl with the Dukes ball.”
