Australia have become the first team to announce their squad for the upcoming ODI World Cup 2023 event which will be hosted by India. The Australian team are currently on a roll after winning WTC 2023 Finals, retaining the Ashes 2023 trophy and now currently they have announced an 18-member squad for the 2023 WC which is scheduled to happen in India from 5th October to 19th November. 

India have co-hosted ODI WC in 1987, 1996 & 2011 and for the fourth time, they will be hosting the ODI WC in 2023. Here, in this article, we will have a look at how Australia have performed in the 1987, 1996 & 2011 ODI World Cups.

Australia in 1987 World Cup (Captain - Allan Border):
- Defeated India by 1 run, Chennai (Group Stage)
- Defeated Zimbabwe by 96 runs, Chennai (Group Stage)
- Defeated New Zealand by 3 runs, Indore (Group Stage)
- Lost to India by 56 runs, Delhi (Group Stage)
- Defeated New Zealand by 17 runs, Chandigarh (Group Stage)
