2. India in 2004 Asia Cup:
The 2004 Asia Cup edition saw a total of six teams participate in that event in two different groups. One group comprised teams like India, Sri Lanka, and UAE while the other group consisted of teams like Bangladesh, Pakistan, and Hong Kong.The Indian team defeated UAE in the group stage match and that helped them to reach the Super Four stage of this tournament. In the Super Four stage, India won two out of three matches and they had a better net run rate to qualify for the finals but unfortunately, once again they lost the final match to Sri Lanka.

Lost to Sri Lanka by 25 runs in Colombo (RPS) - Finals
India played decently enough in both the Group Stage and Super Four stage of this Asia Cup tournament but unfortunately, they ended up losing the final match to Sri Lanka and ended as runners-up in Asia Cup 2004.
