On Monday, August 11, one of the greats of the game and legend, Cristiano Ronaldo finally extended a proposal to his long-time partner Georgina Rodriguez. The 40-year-old, who plays in the Saudi Pro League for Al-Nassr, offered a ring to his long-time girlfriend, proposing her after living with her for almost a decade.
The Argentine-Spanish social media influencer and model, Rodriguez took to her official Instagram handle to confirm her acceptance of the proposal with the caption reading, “Sí, quiero. En esta y en todas mis vidas (Yes, I do. In this life and in all my lives).” While the news quickly sent the internet in a frenzy, everyone was more or less awestruck seeing the size of the diamond ring.

Speaking of the prized ring, which got all the attention in the picture going viral, is an oval-shaped, D-Flawless diamond, measuring over 5 centimenter long. As per Briony Raymond, a jewellery specialist, the main diamond is expected to be weighing around 25-30 carat while a few others suggest it to be at least of 15 carat. Another expert Kegan Fisher, who is the Founder of jeweler Frank Darling, said that the two side diamonds look approximately 1 carat each.
While the quality of the diamond is considered to be top-notch, with professionals evaluating its costs around USD 2-5 million (approximately INR 16.8 Crore to INR 42 Crore). Jewellery influencer Julia Chafe, also joined the buzz, detailing the price, value and rarity of the diamond.
In a video shared on her handle, Chafe referenced it to a similar 35-carat, D-VVS type emerald cut diamond that was sold by Sotheby’s for the same amount. The jewellery influencer speculates that Georgina’s stone could be even more valuable while stating, “I’m guessing it’s at least $3,000,000.”
