Romal Shetty, CEO, Deloitte India, addressed the graduating students of IIM Kozhikode on Saturday, April 8. Shetty, who was invited as the chief guest for the convocation ceremony, conferred degrees to several students and shared words of wisdom with them that included an instance involving Indian cricket team head coach Rahul Dravid and star batters Rishabh Pant and Shubman Gill.

Romal, who recently took over the CEO’s role at Deloitte India, asked students to take on impossible targets and dreams. He also said that students should not be happy just with 10% or 20% growth.  While he asked students to think beyond boundaries and take up impossible numbers, he also specified that such big dreams take a team to be converted into reality, and it is why one should always focus on nurturing the team and boost them with confidence.

Shetty, who identifies himself as a movie and sports buff, recalled his meeting with the Indian cricket team’s head coach, Rahul Dravid. He asked the former captain about how he manages to coach players like Shubman Gill and Rishabh Pant, to which Dravid replied, "I don’t coach the way I batted."

Further adding to this, Shetty said that one should respect the differences and allow people to bloom the way they are.
