After leading their respective groups in the Asia Cup 2022, Team India and Afghanistan have lost their starting two Super Fours games and lost their chance to feature in the final. However, in their final game of the tournament, veteran Indian batter Virat Kohli smashed a much-awaited century against Afghanistan on Thursday.

Virat Kohli, who opened the Indian innings in the absence of skipper Rohit Sharma, smashed his 71st century in the international cricket against Afghanistan. The century in Asia Cup 2022 was his fourth in the continental tournament and first in Twenty20 format for India.

Former Royal Challengers Bangalore teammate AB de Villiers has reacted on Virat Kohli's century against Afghanistan. De Villiers took to his official Twitter handle and wrote, "When I spoke to him yesterday I knew something was brewing💪  Well played my friend."

At the end of the innings, Virat Kohli scored unbeaten 122 runs off 61 balls smashing 12 fours and 6 sixes. Apart from Kohli, KL Rahul scored 62 off 41 balls to help India place a target of 213 runs for Afghanistan in the Asia Cup 2022 Super Fours fixture at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium.
