In game one of the NBA Western Conference Finals series, the Dallas Mavericks took a 1-0 lead after defeating the Minnesota Timberwolves 108-105 at the Target Center. During the post-game show on TNT, when Kyrie Irving was asked about how Anthony Edwards wanted a piece of him, he spoke about using his words as a motivation to deliver the results on the court.

Kyrie Irving was exceptional during game one for the Dallas Mavericks, playing a key role in their narrow win with his 30 points, including 24 in the first half. Luka Doncic got 33 points on the night, along with six rebounds and eight assists, taking the Mavericks over the line against the Timberwolves by scoring 15 of his points in the last quarter.

During the build-up to the highly anticipated NBA West Finals series, Anthony Edwards had earmarked Kyrie Irving as a target, “It's going to be fun, man. My matchup is going to be Kyrie, so that's going to be fun. We're going to see what I can do vs. him.”

After a strong performance for Kyrie Irving on Wednesday night, Charles Barkley pointed out how Anthony Edwards wanted to come after the Dallas Mavericks star. In response, Kyrie Irving said, “I used it as a motivation. When I was sitting at home and I saw it, I was like, it's just a nod of respect. I also knew what type of game it was going to be. Game 1 and also for the rest of the series. I was at home with my family, watching Game 7, and then Ant comes out and says, 'I got Kyrie.' But also that's a no-fear mentality and that's why we love Ant.”

Timberwolves fans chant “Draymond sucks” during pre-game show

Ahead of the NBA Western Conference Finals, Draymond Green, the Golden State Warriors star, who was part of the pre-game show on TNT, was serenaded with “Draymond Sucks” chants by Minnesota Timberwolves fans at the Target Center. Notably, Draymond Green was critical of Rudy Gobert during the semi-final series, and the Timberwolves hadn’t quite forgotten about it.

Upon hearing the “Draymond Sucks” chant, Green didn’t respond to the fans, focusing on his duty to analyze the game between the Minnesota Timberwolves and the Dallas Mavericks. Although Shaquille O’Neal raised his hand to ask the Timberwolves fans to stop chanting, he fell on deaf ears.
