During the match 51 of the Indian Premier League 2023 between Gujarat Titans and Lucknow Super Giants, Wriddhiman Saha was spotted wearing his trousers the other way around, which led to hilarious responses from players on the field and fans all over the world. The hosts GT won the encounter at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad by a comprehensive margin of 56 runs against LSG.

In a chat with Srikar Bharat for the IPL website post-match, Saha revealed the reason behind the incident and said, “I was eating my food and the physio said I need to take my medicine too. So I had to wear my pants in a hurry and it was worn the other way around. After two overs I returned and you did a wonderful job (to Bharat).”

Before the 38-year-old talked about his side of the story, Bharat mentioned about what had happened between him and the umpires as the Gujarat Titans players walked out on the field to defend 227 runs against Lucknow Super Giants. He said, “I told the umpires that you (Saha) are having the needling session, but they didn't allow me to keep.”

Meanwhile, earlier in the day, Wriddhiman Saha scored 81 runs off 43 deliveries with 10 fours and 4 sixes for Gujarat. His fellow opening partner Shubman Gill batted till the last over to stay 94 not out off 51 balls with two fours and a whopping seven maximums all over the Narendra Modi Stadium. They shared an opening stand of 142 runs in just 12.1 overs against a formidable Lucknow bowling attack.

In their bowling innings, Gujarat Titans had to wait for a long-time to pick up their first wicket as Kyle Mayers and Quinton de Kock shared an 88-run partnership in 8.2 overs. Once the Proteas international QDK got dismissed for 70 off 41 deliveries, the entire batting lineup for Lucknow Super Giants succumbed to the pressure of chasing down the target of 228 runs. Mohit Sharma was the pick of the bowlers for the hosts as he took four wickets in his spell.
