The ICC Champions Trophy 2025 has ended successfully with India lifting their third title by defeating New Zealand in the final in Dubai. The tournament was coming back after eight years and was successfully concluded by the ICC from February 19 to March 9. With Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) being the official hosts of the tournament, the tournament took place in Pakistan, with India playing their matches in Dubai.
As India qualified for the final, the title clash also took place at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium. There were also some of the biggest moments that took place in the recently ended Champions Trophy. Australia broke the record for the highest-ever successful chase in the tournament after they chased down the target of 352 runs. Apart from that, Afghanistan also stunned England after defeating them in the group stage, with Australia’s Steve Smith announcing his retirement from the ODI format after the semi-final exit being among the top moments of the tournament.
Despite being the hosts and the defending champions, it was a forgettable tournament for the Pakistan Cricket Team. They went on to lose against New Zealand and India respectively. Their last league match against Bangladesh was also washed out and Pakistan have to end their Champions Trophy 2025 without a single win. Throughout the tournament, the fans made Champions Trophy 2025 predictions at Stake and won exciting prizes.
India’s Champions Trophy 2025 campaign
Emerging as champions in 2013 and finishing as the runners-up in 2017, India were among the favourites to lift the Champions Trophy this year. The runners-up of 2023 ODI World Cup and winners of 2024 T20 World Cup India had another great ICC tournament where they made it to the final without losing a single match throughout the tournament.
After that, India went on to continue their winning run in the final as well and defeated New Zealand by four wickets to win their second consecutive ICC title in nine months. Rohit Sharma also became the first Indian captain to win two back-to-back ICC titles. Let’s have a look at India’s Champions Trophy 2025 campaign.

IND vs NZ Champions Trophy Final Highlights
In the final clash, India faced New Zealand at Dubai International Cricket Stadium on March 9 where the Black Caps decided to bat first after winning the toss. With the help of Daryl Mitchell’s 63(101) runs and Michael Bracewell’s 53*(40) runs, New Zealand posted 251/7 on board in their 50 overs.
Chasing the winning target, skipper Rohit Sharma led from that front and played a captain’s knock of 76(83) runs. However the situation got tricky after New Zealand bowlers went on to take big wickets in the middle overs. After that, Shreyas Iyer scored a crucial 48(62) runs while KL Rahul remained unbeaten on 34*(33) runs as India chase the winning target in 49 overs and lifted their third Champions Trophy title.
