Nitish Kumar Reddy, the Indian all-rounder, is currently on the sidelines after suffering an unfortunate knee injury in the build-up to the fourth Test of the five-match Test series against England, for the Anderson-Tendulkar Trophy, at Old Trafford in Manchester. After getting into the groove with both bat and ball in the third Test at Lord’s in London earlier in the month, it was expected that Nitish Kumar Reddy would play a big role in the remainder of the series, but for the injury.
With Nitish Kumar Reddy getting ruled off the Test series in England, there is no immediate timeline in regards to when the all-rounder will be back in action. He is a part of Bhimavaram Bulls squad of the Andhra Pradesh League (APL) 2025, which is scheduled to begin on August 8 at the Dr. YSR ACA-VDCA Cricket Stadium in Visakhapatnam, but his involvement in the tournament isn’t confirmed yet.
I’ll always stand by this team: Nitish Kumar Reddy on SRH
Amid all this, there has been speculation around the future of Nitish Kumar Reddy as far as his days with Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) in the Indian Premier League (IPL) are concerned. Reports have emerged in the media around him departing SRH ahead of the IPL 2026 after a dismal showing last season with the bat, ball, and in the field, while the team finished in sixth place after a slow start as well.
After taking stock of the situation online, Nitish Kumar Reddy took to his official X account to rubbish rumours of him leaving SRH before IPL 2026 in a categoric manner. His post read, “I tend to stay away from the noise, but some things deserve clarity. My connection with SRH is built on trust, respect, and years of shared passion. I’ll always stand by this team.”
With the IPL 2026 mini-auction set to happen later this year, it will be interesting to see whether Nitish Kumar Reddy continues to be the part of SRH.
