South Africa Champions registered a dominant victory over India Champions by 88 runs (as per the DLS method) in match number six of World Championship of Legends (WCL) 2025 at the County Ground in Hampshire. With this, SA Champions went on to win their second consecutive game in the ongoing WCL. On the other hand, defending champions India, couldn’t continue their previous year’s form as they failed to chase a target of 209 given by the Proteas legends.

Batting first after losing the toss, South Africa Champions posted a total of 208 runs for the loss of six wickets in their 20 overs. After a gooSA Champions were reduced to 118/5 under 14 overs. After that, skipper AB de Villiers and JJ Smuts took charge of the innings as the duo put up a partnership of 71 runs for the sixth wicket.

After a 71-run partnership, JJ Smuts got out after a quickfire 30(17) runs hitting three fours and a six, while AB De Villiers played a captain’s knock of 63*(30) runs hitting three fours and four sixes. For India Champions, Yusuf Pathan and Piyush Chawla scalped two wickets each while Abhimanyu Mithun put one in his bag.

Chasing the winning target, India Champions had a disastrous start as they kept losing wickets at regular intervals. Stuart Binny was top scorer for India Champions with 37*(39) runs but didn’t get any support from the other end. In the end, South Africa were declared winners after fire broke out at the stadium while India Champions were at 111/9 in 18.2 overs. For South Africa, Aaron Phangiso took three wickets, Imran Tahir and Wayne Parnell took two wickets each while Duanne Olivier and Hardus Viljoen scalped a wicket each.
