India defeated Sri Lanka in a thriller in the 1st T20I of the three-match series. First, a brilliant 6th wicket partnership between Deepak Hooda and Axar Patel and then a dream performance from debutant Shivam Mavi helped India take the 1-0 lead. Despite losing 5 wickets for 94, the hosts managed to put on 162 with the help of Axar Patel (31*) and Deepak Hooda (41*).
