A triumphant cricketer and a highly talented strokemaker whose batting not only brings joy but stands in a class of its own worthy of emulation- Harmanpreet Kaur, India women's skipper has blazed a trail of sorts. Her inspiring leadership coupled with her timeless and classy acts with the willow have stood not just the tests of time, but served the firmament that is Indian cricket with great effort and rigor. Her love for undergoing the grind for her team is second to none. And in this post-Mithali Raj era where the team so desperately seeks a senior figure to stand tall for the team's cause, Harmanpreet Kaur answers brilliantly by producing jewels with the bat that inspire and entertain in equal measure. Her most recent fifty plus score that actually came after a long time waiting, nearly eight months or so, was a classic example of standing tall under pressure. Her brilliant hitting, added to the midhas touch as felt in sublime timing only puts her in an elite list of batters on which world cricket marvels, not just Indian cricket.
Having said that, let us look at some individual records as also some team milestones that Harmanpreet's timely and valiant knock earned at the end of the recent one-dayer.

Courtesy her brilliant hundred at the Chester-le-Street ground, Harmanpreet Kaur became the world's first-ever woman cricketer to hit three centuries in England. Thus becoming, the most successful India women's cricket batter to hit three centuries as a visiting batter to England.
Also, rather remarkably so, Harmanpreet's highest score in one day games against England was 143 not out that came off just 111 odd deliveries, three years back in the day in England. That was another sublime ton in Canterbury, a knock that featured 18 fours and 4 sixes. It would, undoubtedly, earn her the player of the match award.

Milestones Harmanpreet Kaur helped Team India achieve and breached herself:
- India women's captain Harmanpreet Kaur actually surpassed 4,000 runs in One Day Internationals (ODIs), which in itself is a fine achievement. In so doing, her mighty India women's team reached a total of 4,069 runs, and thus became only the third Indian woman to achieve this milestone.
- The skilled veteran of the game, the 36-year-old in the process also crossed the 1,000-run mark in England during her innings, her previous run tally that particular one day notwithstanding was 955 runs. That makes her where it stands, only the second Indian woman after the great Mithali Raj to do so.
- Harmanpreet Kaur's fantastic century off 82 deliveries was the second-fastest ODI century by an Indian woman, trailing only Smriti Mandhana’s 75-ball-hundred against Ireland women, that happened in Rajkot in the year 2025.
- Moreover, captain Kaur's mesmeric 116-run partnership with Jemimah Rodrigues came at a run rate of 9.94, a timely stand which starred in the second-highest stand for an Indian pair in women’s ODIs.
