Team India have created history at the ongoing Archery World Cup in Paris as the women's team produced a scintillating performance on Sunday to secure a gold medal for the country. The trio of Deepika Kumari, Ankita Bhakat and Komalika Bari were at their absolute best against Mexico as they won the finals 5-1 to complete an emphatic victory.

With India needed a 10 to win the event, the experienced archer Deepika Kumari held her nerves and got India over the line as India won their second medal at the World Cup Stage 3 event.

Abhishek Verma won gold on Saturday

On Saturday, India's Abhishek Verma had defeated American Kris Schaff to win the compound men’s individual event. The finals had gone down to the wire after the scores were tied at 148-148 as Abhishek clinched a historic win in the shoot-off as he shot a 10 with his opponent shooting 9.

India's Mixed Recurve Team will also be seen in action in the afternoon on Sunday as they take on the Netherlands in what is expected to be another thrilling clash. The husband-wife duo of Deepika Kumari and Atanu Das will be competing to get India's third gold medal in Paris.
