India legend Virat Kohli was seen visiting iconic Hanuman Garhi temple in Ayodhya on May 25. Kohli, who is in the Awadh region of Uttar Pradesh for the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 game between Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) and Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) at the Ekana Cricket Stadium on May 27, was accompanied by his wife Anushka Sharma at the religious site. Earlier, Kohli also hit the headlines for meeting with the spiritual guru Premanand Maharaj in Vrindavan on May 13, a day after the 36-year-old's Test retirement.
Ahead of his team’s encounter against LSG, Kohli’s visit to the temple has grabbed the media attention. In a video going viral on social media, the star player and his spouse Anushka can be seen offering prayers. The priest at the temple also gave garlands to the couple as the 36-year-old was surrounded by tight security personnel.
RCB to be wary of LSG in IPL 2025 clash
RCB will be aiming to end their league round on the top two of the points table but they will now have to rely on fate of other teams to gain the positions. Challengers not only have to win the contest against LSG but they will have to expect the defeats of Gujarat Titans (GT) or Punjab Kings (PBKS) in their final league round matches against Chennai Super Kings (CSK) and Mumbai Indians (MI) respectively.
Bengaluru have to stay cautious against Lucknow, who won their last game against Gujarat Titans (GT) at the Narendra Modi Stadium on May 22. Both teams will face each other for the first time in the T20 tournament. Virat Kohli, who has done a magnificent job as opener in the T20 extravaganza, will be expected to step up in the crucial game to help RCB get the desired results. In this tournament, he has racked up 548 runs in 12 contests at a strike rate of 145.35.
