India is set to host Bangladesh in a Test and T20I series, starting September 19. The Men in Blue will face their near neighbours, Bangladesh in a two-match Test series, followed by three T20Is across September and October 2024. But ahead of the Test series, reports have made a big claim that added that the second Test is set to be moved out of Kanpur. 

While the first Test of the two-match series is scheduled to be played from September 19 till September 23 at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai, the second Test is set to be played from September 27 till October 1 at the Green Park. Moreover, these reports surfaced after threat issued by Hindu Mahasabha regarding protests against Bangladesh cricket team.

However, there hasn’t been any official communication regarding the same, a senior official from the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has confirmed that the second Test match between India and Bangladesh will not be shifted from Kanpur despite threats of protests, according to a report by India Today.

The source further informed that they are not looking at any alternate venues for the encounter and the match will go as planned. "Yes, we are monitoring and with the concerned authorities as far as those threats are concerned but we have done everything to hold that match and stadium is ready to welcome our and visitors and said it's not going anywhere it will be in Kanpur but will keep monitoring the situation not only in Kanpur but also at the other venues,” the source told India Today.
