India once again dominated Sri Lanka in the 2nd Test match with the help of terrific batting and bowling display from the side. India after winning the toss, opted to bat first and initially were struggling in tough batting conditions. But, Shreyas Iyer's 92 (98) lifted Team India's total and helped them to post 252 runs on board. Sri Lanka in reply got bundled out for just 109 runs as Bumrah stunned their batters by taking a five-wicket haul.

India in their second innings ended up playing aggressive cricket as Rishabh Pant recorded fifty from just 28 balls while Shreyas Iyer smashed another fifty in second innings of the match. Sri Lanka were asked to chase down a Himalayan target of 447 runs in fourth innings which looked totally out of their hands. Kusal Mendis smashed a quick-fire fifty and Sri Lankan skipper Dimuth Karunaratne fought a lonely battle for his team as he had no support from other players.
