After registering a rampant 62-run win against Sri Lanka in the first T20I in Lucknow, India defeated the visitors by seven wickets in the second game to take an unassailable 2-0 lead in the three-match series. Shreyas Iyer (74*) put on 84 runs off 47 balls with Sanju Samson (39) for the third wicket as India recorded their 11th consecutive win in the shortest format. India fumbled early at Dharamsala as they lost skipper Rohit Sharma and Ishan Kishan, but managed to win the game comfortably in the end.

The pitch at HPCA Stadium in Dharamsala offers a lot of runs. Due to the location of the stadium at a high altitude, the ball travels faster as well. The team batting second will get the advantage of dew.

India:

For India, players like Rishabh Pant, Virat Kohli, KL Rahul, Suryakumar Yadav, Deepak Chahar, and Mohammed Shami are not part of the series. Ruturaj Gaikwad faced an injury ahead of the 1st T20I. Later, he was replaced by Mayank Agarwal. Youngsters and newcomers like Ishan Kishan, Venkatesh Iyer, Avesh Khan, Harshal Patel, Deepak Hooda, Sanju Samson, Mohammed Siraj, and Ravi Bishnoi are part of India’s squad. They have managed to do a nice job in the series so far. Experienced pacers like Jasprit Bumrah and Bhuvneshwar Kumar are part of the India vs Sri Lanka series. Ishan Kishan, who opened with Rohit Sharma in each of the first two games, received a nasty blow on his head in the second T20I and had to be hospitalised but later reports have suggested that he has joined the team hotel. The BCCI is still awaiting medical advice on whether he should play the final T20I fixture or not.

Sri Lanka:

For Sri Lanka, they are short of Wanindu Hasaranga in India vs Sri Lanka T20I series. Kusal Mendis and Maheesh Theekshana got injured after the 1st T20I and were ruled out of the series. Dhananjaya De Silva and Niroshan Dickwella have been added to the T20I squad as replacements. Dinesh Chandimal sustained an injury while fielding in the second T20I and was taken to the hospital as a precautionary measure but there is no clarity yet on whether he will be available for selection.
