India and Ireland will go head to head in an important Group B fixture at St George's Park. This will be the last group game for both teams who have had contrasting tournaments. Entering this fixture, the Irish team lost three games in a row and was knocked out of the World Cup. Whereas India lost their previous match against England in Gqeberha.
India’s winning run in the World Cup ended against England in a hard-fought loss. The English team took advantage of Team India’s shortcomings which were seen over the two games. The Indian bowlers picked up wickets at regular intervals but conceded a lot of runs to end the game. These late runs made the chase difficult for the batters and in turn led to the loss.
Whereas Ireland will look to end a disappointing win-less campaign in the Women’s World Cup. But their performance against West Indies was undoubtedly their best. Their batters scored key runs to put up a decent total and their bowlers took the game to the last over of the match. But they failed to finish off the game and lost the game by six wickets.
