India's motorsport star Jehan Daruvala has made another big move in his career on Friday. The 23-year-old has joined Prema Racing ahead of the 2022 season of Formula 2. It must be noted that Daruvala had previously driven for the Italian team three years back in Formula 3. During the 2019 season, the Mumbai-born racer finished P3 with two wins and a further five podiums.

As expected, Daruvala was delighted on his return to the team where he enjoyed a successful tenure few years back. "I’m really happy to be back at PREMA and continue to be part of the Red Bull Junior Team for the 2022 FIA F2 Championship. We have worked together in the past and share a fantastic relationship. PREMA is a champion team and I can’t wait to get started and look forward to a successful F2 campaign," he said.

The 23-year-old spent last two season with Carlin in Formula 2 where he finished P12 and P7 in 2020 and 2021, respectively. He registered two wins, in addition to three more podiums, in an impressive season last year.

Daruvala will be partnered by Dennis Hauger at Prema

Prema Racing have announced an all-new line-up as they have also granted a promotion to Formula 3 champion Dennis Hauger, who will partner Jehan Daruvala during the upcoming season of Formula 2. The 18-year-old won the F3 championship last season with Prema, where he secured nine podiums, including four wins. He would be hoping to continue the same in his next step of career.

Meanwhile, New Zealander Liam Lawson will join Williams Academy driver Logan Sargeant at Carlin for the next season.
