Both the teams came victorious in their respective opening games of the season. While Delhi defeated mighty Mumbai, Hardik Pandya's Gujarat beat the other new team in the tournament, Lucknow. Both teams won the game chasing and have a left-hander to thank. While it was Axar Patel for Delhi, it was Rahul Tewatia for Gujarat. Although Delhi have been here in the tournament for a long, they won't dare to take the Gujarat-based franchise lightly. Hardik Pandya was impressive on his captaincy debut and thus the match-up between him and Pant will be one to watch out for (on tactical grounds).

Few of Delhi's top-order batters looked in trouble against MI bowlers but they are expected to come good against Gujarat. They won't find it any easier though with Mohammed Shami leading the attack for Gujarat. Delhi are expected to go with the same opening pair of Prithvi Shaw and Tim Seifert until David Warner is back in the hut. A few changes in Delhi's bowling lineup will be seen though. In Gujarat camp, Hardik Pandya will refrain from chopping and changing a winning combination. Shubman Gill, who found it tough against Lucknow, is expected to return among run charts.
