The 33rd edition of the Summer Games kickstarted on July 26 with an extravagant opening ceremony at the river Seine in the French capital city of Paris. Followed by a lit-up ceremony, the proceedings began on Saturday, July 27.  The Indian contingent's campaign came to a close on Day 15 with two last medal hopes shattering.

Wrestling

Indian wrestler Reetika Hooda went down to Aiperi Medet Kyzy of Kyrgyzstan in the women’s 76kg freestyle wrestling quarterfinal at  Paris Olympics 2024 . Reetika, who is India’s sixth and final wrestler at the Summer Games 2024 was defeated by her top-seeded counterpart with a scoreline of 1-1. Hooda could have qualified for the repechage round, had her rival made it to the finals. However, with Kyzy's defeat in the semis, India's last medal hopes ended. 

Golf

Aditi Ashok and Diksha Dagar, finished their campaign outside the medal places in the women’s golf event at the Paris Olympics 2024. At the Le Golf National, Lydia Ko of New Zealand won the gold medal ahead of Esther Henseleit of Germany and Lin Xiyu of China, who had to settle for the silver and bronze medals respectively.
