Preview

After beating Kolkata in their last game, an upbeat Delhi Capitals will lock horns with Lucknow Super Giants in the first game of Sunday's doubleheader. Lucknow are also coming on the back of a comprehensive win against Punjab Kings. The KL Rahul-led LSG beat PBKS by 20 runs to move up in the points table. Now, both teams will look to strengthen their chances for the playoffs race as they meet at the Wankhede Stadium.

Pitch Report

The Wankhede pitch is getting better for batting as the tournament is progressing. However, since DC vs LSG is a day game, the pitch is going to be on the drier side. Bowlers will have something to exploit while the batters will need to play cautiously.

Team Analysis

Delhi Capitals

The Rishabh Pant-led side has had some hot and cold performances in IPL 2022. Out of eight games played, they have won four and lost four. Interestingly, in all the four won games, they have had one hero, Kuldeep Yadav. The left-arm unorthodox has shown tremendous improvement and is reaping rewards. DC's bowling never looks like a worry but the batting has had a few problems. Rishabh Pant himself has not taken off like he would have liked. Mitchell Marsh is yet to produce a knock of his calibre. Nonetheless, the capitals will refrain from tinkering with a winning combination.

Probable Playing XI

Prithvi Shaw, David Warner, Mitchell Marsh, Rishabh Pant (c & wk), Lalit Yadav, Rovman Powell, Axar Patel, Shardul Thakur, Kuldeep Yadav, Mustafizur Rahman, Chetan Sakariya

Lucknow Super Giants

Lucknow bowlers, especially Krunal Pandya, put on a brave performance as they restricted Punjab to 133 and won the game by 20 runs. However, the batting performance was a bit of a worry for LSG as they lost wickets in a cluster. They lost four wickets within two overs. KL Rahul also fell early. They would want to avoid such a collapse when they face DC on Sunday.

Probable Playing XI

Quinton de Kock (wk), KL Rahul (c), Deepak Hooda, Marcus Stoinis, Ayush Badoni, Krunal Pandya, Jason Holder, Dushmantha Chameera, Ravi Bishnoi, Avesh Khan, Mohsin Khan

Match Prediction

Conclusion

Although the Rishabh Pant-led side has the capability to beat any team, going by recent performances and results, LSG is likely to win the game.
