Kolkata Knight Riders will face Gujarat Titans at the Eden Gardens on Saturday, April 29. While KKR are seventh in the table after eight matches, GT are second after playing seven matches so far in the tournament.
The Knight Riders are coming off a morale-boosting 21-run win over Royal Challengers Bangalore on April 26, Wednesday. Their new opener Jason Roy came to the party with a 29-ball 56 and the captain Nitish Rana guided them to a respectable total of 200 with a quick-fire 48 off 21 balls. The spinners impressed again as Varun Chakravarthy and Suyash Sharma picked up three and two wickets respectively. KKR snapped their three-match losing streak with this win. The spinners will once again be key against the Titans along with Rana and Roy in the batting lineup. Andre Russell hasn’t yet fired so far this season and this would be an amazing opportunity to come back to form.
Gujarat Titans, on the other hand, won their last game against five-time champions Mumbai Indians by 55 runs. Shubman Gill continued his amazing form with a fifty. David Miller and Abhinav Manohar scored quick forties in the middle. Rahul Tewatia’s five-ball 20 took the Titans' total to 207 in their 20 overs. The Afghanistan pair of Noor Ahmed and Rashid Khan again starred in the bowling with three and two wickets respectively. Gujarat have won two on the trot and will be looking to make it three in a row and go top of the table.
