Mumbai Indians (MI) defeated table-toppers Gujarat Titans (GT) by 27 runs at the Wankhede Stadium with the help of a scintillating hundred from Suryakumar Yadav. MI posted 218/5 in the first innings with the help of a brilliant start given by Rohit Sharma-Ishan Kishan in the powerplay overs, and Suryakumar Yadav was the real hero, whose sensational innings (103* off 49 balls) lifted Mumbai single-handedly by posting a mammoth total on board along with cameos from Nehal Wadhera and Vishnu Vinod.
Gujarat Titans were bamboozled by Mumbai's bowling attack as they got reduced to 103/8 in 13.2 overs, but an unreal knock from Rashid Khan at number 8 position saw GT post a total of 191/8 in 20 overs and salvage some pride for them. Rashid Khan's effort almost overpowered Suryakumar Yadav's century, who scored 79*(32) and picked 4/30 with the ball to become the most valuable player in this game.
