Just like every year, Royal Challengers Bangalore will be sporting their green jersey as a part of their ‘Go Green’ initiative on April 23, when they lock horns with Rajasthan Royals. The ‘Go Green’ feature has been a regular in the franchise since the 2011 edition of the Indian Premier League. Hence, this year RCB will be playing their 11th ‘Green Game’, and this year, against the Sanju Samson-led Royals.

Speaking of the ‘Go Green’ initiative, it works towards raising awareness towards a better and more sustainable environment. The ‘Green Game’ has been a tradition in the franchise since 2011, however, it was only in 2021, they sported a blue jersey, as a token of respect towards the frontline workers during COVID-19. The Bangalore-based franchise took it to their social media and announced their ‘Go Green’ key for this year.

Sharing a picture of the players in their green kit, the franchise posted, "RCB’s Green Game will be played on the 23rd of April, against Rajasthan Royals at the Chinnaswamy stadium. Our special green jerseys are made of 100% recycled material and you can now get your hands on them, on the RCB Website and App."

Notably, RCB have managed to win only three of their 11 ‘Green Games’ so far. Considering they haven’t performed well in their ‘Go Green’ matches, RCB will take on the Rajasthan Royals and look to change their fortunes in their 12th ‘Green Game’.

Despite a few thrillers in the IPL 2023, RCB have managed to win only one out of their three fixtures. In their next game, they will clash against Delhi Capitals in the afternoon match of the April 15 doubleheader.
