Mexico has named their squad for the 2026 FIFA World Cup, and they have been drawn into a relatively competitive group. They have been drawn alongside South Africa, South Korea and Czechia. They have some interesting additions in their squad, with the likes of Raul Jimenez being the most capable man in the attacking third. They have also included some fresh talents like Alvaro Fidalgo and Alex Padilla. Ochoa will be playing probably his last World Cup, and he has been a constant in the side since the 2014 edition. Javier Aguirre is their manager for the tournament, and he will be hoping to draw some positive results.

In the 2022 FIFA World Cup, they put up a disappointing performance as they were eliminated in the group stage itself. They started with a goalless draw in the first game against Poland, and that was probably the best chance they had to secure the 3 points. Later on, they lost against Argentina by 2 goals, and that would have probably sealed their exit from the tournament. Mexico’s first goal of the World Cup game against Saudi Arabia in their final fixture, and it was more of a battle of pride and honour rather than a victory with chances to qualify.
