Lucknow Super Giants defeated Mumbai Indians by five runs to make the IPL 2023 playoffs race more interesting. LSG batting first posted a total of 177/3 in 20 overs, with Marcus Stoinis scoring an unbeaten 89 off 47 balls, and skipper Krunal Pandya also played an anchoring role by scoring 49 runs in 42 balls.
Mumbai started off the run-chase well with the help of a 90-run opening partnership between Rohit Sharma-Ishan Kishan, but they fell short of the target despite a stunning cameo from Tim David in the death overs. Mohsin Khan was fantastic with the ball as he defended ten runs in the last over brilliantly, and Ravi Bishnoi played a crucial role with the ball by dismissing both the Mumbai openers.
