After two months of thrilling cricketing action, curtains are set to come down on the IPL 2024, aka, ‘India ka Tyohaar’. The 17th edition of the biggest cricket league kicked off on March 22, with reigning champions Chennai Super Kings clashing against Royal Challengers Bengaluru. After 70 dramatic league-stage games and three knockout matches, the finalists of the season, Kolkata Knight Riders will clash against SunRisers Hyderabad on May 26, at the MA Chidambaram Stadium, Chennai.
The grand finale of the season will be preceded by a rocking performance by the famous American band Imagine Dragons. The band will deliver an electrifying performance for the crowd, and they shared exciting news on their social media. The ceremony will start at 6 pm IST followed by the pre-match presentation ceremonies. The performance will be telecast live on Star Sports Network and will be streamed on the JioCinema app and website.
For the unversed, Imagine Dragons, comprising lead singer Dan Reynolds, guitarist Wayne Sermon, bassist Ben McKee, and drummer Daniel Platzman, was formed in 2008. The rock band is based out of Las Vegas in the United States of America (USA). The Grammy Award-winning band has composed several iconic tracks including ‘Believer’, ‘Thunder’ and ‘Whatever it takes’.
Coming back to the match, Kolkata Knight Riders, led by Shreyas Iyer will aim to win their third IPL title, whereas SRH, under Pat Cummins, will aim for their second IPL title. Several Bollywood biggies including Shah Rukh Khan, Juhi Chawla, Suhana Khan, Ananya Panday, and Shanaya Kapoor are expected to be at the stadium to attend the finale.
