Ahead of the beginning of the 16th edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL), the IPL 2023 mini auction took place on Friday, December 23 at the Grand Hyatt hotel in Kochi. New Zealand star players like Kane Williamson and Kyle Jamieson witnessed a massive downfall in the auction while many Kiwi players remained unsold.

Former New Zealand skipper Kane Williamson was bought by defending champions Gujarat Titans for his base price of INR 2 Crore while all-rounder Kyle Jamieson secured an INR 1 Crore bid from Chennai Super Kings. The 32-year-old Williamson was sold for a whooping INR 14 Crore in the 2022 auction while Jamieson received INR 15 Crore bid in 2021.

Apart from them, New Zealand players like Jimmy Neesham, Daryl Mitchell and Adam Milne remain unsold in the mini auction.
