Indian fans criticised the BCCI as Shreyas Iyer re-aggravated his back injury in the Ranji Trophy fi nal against Vidarbha. There are reports that the Kolkata Knight Riders skipper may miss the first half of the 2024 season of the Indian Premier League. Iyer’s injury resurfaced during his 95-run knock in the final of the domestic tournament. Notably, Iyer suffered a back injury just before the 2023 season of the T20 tournament. As per reports by TOI, a source close to the Mumbai Cricket Association said that the injury isn’t looking good. The reports also suggest that the player would miss the game on Day 5 of the Ranji Trophy final as well as the initial phase of the IPL. The major blow just a few days ahead of the tournament didn’t go well with the fans, and those who were excited to see Iyer back in KKR colours took to social media to criticise the BCCI.
