With the ICC Men’s Champions Trophy 2025 kickstarting in just a day’s time, all eyes are glued on the India versus Pakistan clash. The much-awaited clash between the arch-rivals is scheduled to be played on February 23 at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium in Dubai and ahead of it, several cricketing buffs have picked their winners.

While several have gone with the hosts Pakistan, a few have favoured Rohit Sharma-led Team India, seeing their experienced side. Among many, former India spinner Harbhajan Singh also opened up while predicting India to come out on top against their rivals. Furthermore, Harbhajan Singh, who is fondly called “Bhajji” also called this match as “overhyped”.

This India-Pakistan game is overhyped: Harbhajan Singh ahead of IND vs PAK CT 2025 clash

Speaking on his YouTube channel, Harbhajan Singh said, “This India-Pakistan game is overhyped game because there is nothing in it. India is a very strong team. Pakistan recently lost against New Zealand while playing at home. Pakistan is a very inconsistent team, and if you look at their statistics and compare them with Indian batsmen and bowlers, you will get a clear picture."

“When I look at both teams, the difference is very high. India’s team looks too strong. Pakistan’s team appears weak apart from Babar [Azam] and [Mohammad] Rizwan. If we talk about Babar and Rizwan, then apart from them, no other batsmen stands out. Their bowling unit is also not in form,” he continued.

While speaking of the high-priced tickets for the match, Bhajji exclaimed, “The prices of the tickets have increased a lot, but I don’t think the game will be as exciting as people are expecting. In this overhyped game on February 23, I think it will be a one-sided game.”

The Rohit Sharma-led Men in Blue will open their CT 2025 campaign against Bangladesh on February 20 before taking on arch-rival Pakistan three days later. They will then lock horns against New Zealand on March 2 in the final group stage match.
