India got the most wanted wicket of Travis Head in the first semi-final of the ICC Champions Trophy 2025 against Australia in Dubai. After getting a good start, the opening batter lost his wicket after scoring 39 runs off 33 balls as Varun Chakravarthy dismissed him in the ninth over of the innings. After Head got out, the Indian fans filled the social media with memes and different types of reactions. Notably, the left-hander smashed a match-winning hundred as Australia defeated India in the final to win the ODI World Cup in 2023.
Talking about the match, coming to bat first after winning the toss, Australia lost their first wicket at the score of four runs in 2.6 overs as Cooper Connolly went back after a nine-ball duck. After that, Travis Head was looking in good touch as he crossed 30 runs in no time and was aiming for another big knock in the ICC event against India. However, he lost his wicket while trying to hit a shot against Vaarun Chakravarthy as India finally got rid off him in a do-or-die clash.

Travis Head’s dismissal came up as a big moment for the Indian fans who were carrying bitter memories of the 2023 ODI World Cup final. Notably, Head has a great record in the ICC tournaments against India in the last couple of years. The left-hander scored match-winning centuries in the final of World Test Championship and ODI World Cup respectively in 2023. Apart from that, he also played a fighting knock of 76 runs in the T20 World Cup fixture against India in 2024.
At the time of writing, Australian skipper Steve Smith scored a half-century as Australia have scored more than 130 runs in the semi-final.
