Former India all-rounder Ravichandran Ashwin might have retired from international cricket, but remains an ardent reader and analyst of the game. In his latest video on his YouTube channel, the former Indian veteran pointed out the flaws in batting of Indian team, specially in the recently-concluded five-match T20I series against England.

Ashwin directly pin-pointed the batting struggles of skipper Suryakumar Yadav and wicketkeeper-batter Sanju Samson, highlighting on the duo playing similar shots and getting out on similar deliveries. The former India all-rounder in a hilarious turn, made reference from Rajnikanth’s Tamil film ‘Thillu Millu' to explain his stance.

Ashwin makes hilarious reference from Ranjikanth’s Tamil film to explain SKY and Sanju’s batting in England T20Is

Speaking on his YouTube channel ‘Ash Ki Baat’, Ashwin said, “There is a Tamil film called Thillu Millu, where Rajnikanth plays two different people, one with a moustache and one without a moustache. That is how it feels watching Sanju Samson and Suryakumar Yadav.” He directly took a jibe at the Indian batters, questioning their poor shot selections and similar dismissals.

"Same ball, same field, same shot, same mistake, same dismissal. I can understand it happening in one or two games, but this is surprising. When you know a tactic is being used against you, it becomes your responsibility to find a new answer. It is very surprising from both players," Ashwin stated.

It is to be noted that Suryakumar Yadav’s strength has been exploited into his weakness as he was dismissed on his signature flick scoop shot in the England series. On the other hand, Sanju Samson has repeatedly fell on short deliveries. "Surya is a very experienced guy. He was part of the change of guard for Indian cricket in batting. But I think it's high time he changes his approach a little. For Samson, the mind will be playing tricks. If there are many questions in your head, it gets difficult," Ashwin added.

It is to be noted that Sanju Samson amassed 51 runs across the five T20Is with his highest score of 26 coming in the opening T20I, Suryakumar Yadav scored just 28 runs in the five innings, including two ducks. However, after the conclusion of the T20I series, Suryakumar Yadav has returned to domestic cricket with Mumbai, Sanju Samson is likely to be out of action for at least six weeks due to a fracture sustained on his right index finger.
