After some entertaining table tennis at the 2022 Commonwealth Games, now the TT world gears up toward the upcoming 2022 ITTF World Team Table Tennis Championships Finals. The tournament is slated to run from September 30 to October 9, 2022, at the High-Tech Zone Sports Center in Chengdu, China. 


India would be hoping for success after a remarkable outing at the 2022 CWG. The Indian contingent will be led by Commonwealth Games bronze medalist Sathiyan Gnanasekaran in the absence of veteran paddler Achanta Sharath Kamal. Sharath won four medals in Birmingham with three gold medals and one silver medal. He has pulled out of the World Team Table Tennis Championships citing personal reasons.

African Championships, Cameroon: 1-7 September 2021 

Asian Championships, Qatar: 28 September – 5 October 2021

European Championships, Romania: 28 September – 4 October 2021 


How many teams will participate in the ITTF World Table Tennis Championships?

33 Teams will qualify from the Continental Stage. The Continental quota allocation is the following: 


4 for Africa 

10 for Asia, 

11 for Europe  

6 for PANAM 

2 for Oceania
