The Indian opening partnership of Yashasvi Jaiswal and Rohit Sharma provided a fast start on Day 1 of the first Test match in Hyderabad. After bowling out England for 246 runs, Team India replicated the highly famous Bazball strategy of their opposition, notching up 80 runs within just 13 overs, invoking a plethora of unique reactions from fans on X.
At the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium, the English captain Ben Stokes won the toss and decided to bat first on a pitch which was expected to turn from ball one. After a very good opening partnership for the first wicket between Zak Crawley and Ben Duckett of 55 runs, the visitors started losing wickets in clumps to the Indian spinners.

Ben Stokes was the top scorer for England with 70 off 88, changing gears in the second half of his innings with the tail to give some respectability to their 246-run total. Ravichandran Ashwin, Ravindra Jadeja, and Axar Patel shared eight out of 10 wickets to fall in the England innings on Day 1.
In response, Rohit Sharma, and more specifically Yashasvi Jaiswal were severe on any loose balls from England bowlers. They shared an opening stand of 80 runs among themselves, scoring more than six runs per over to put the opposition firmly on the back foot.

At the close of play on Day 1 at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium in Hyderabad, India were 119/1 with Yashasvi Jaiswal unbeaten on 76 off just 70, while a circumspect Shubman Gill was not out on 14 off 43. During the first session of play on Day 2, India will be looking to overhaul the 127-run deficit against England before pushing on towards a big first-innings score with nine wickets in hand.
