England cricket team produced a brilliant comeback at Headingley in third Test against India after suffering an embarrassing loss at Lord's. Joe Root's side came up with a full-fledged plan and executed it to perfection. Emotions had got the better of England in previous test in a heated contest but the home side got their focus back in place and produced a brilliant performance on Day 1.

After opting to bat first, India were bowled out at a paltry score of 78 with all the English pacers among wickets. Interestingly, the key architect of visitors' collapse in Leeds was once again James Anderson. The English fast-bowler bowled a mesmerizing opening spell with the new ball to get rid of KL Rahul and Cheteshwar Pujara quite early in the innings. However, the moment of the match was yet to come for the veteran pacer.

Anderson wins the face-off against Kohli at Headingley

A lot of heated words had been exchanged between Virat Kohli and James Anderson in the previous Test. There was no doubt that the Indian skipper had got under the nerves of Anderson with his cheeky comments and banter at Lord's. The only option for the English pacer was to reply on the field and he certainly did that in style.

As Kohli came out to bat on Wednesday, he was trying to dominate Anderson right from the beginning. The right-handed batsman was playing his shots and hit a delightful straight drive as well. However, all that Anderson needed was one edge and that came on the 5th ball of 11th over of India's innings.

The 39-year-old bowled a full-length delivery which lit up the eyes of Kohli. However, it was a typical Anderson delivery which moved away slightly at the last moment drawing an edge from Kohli's bat going straight into the gloves of Jos Buttler.

The English pacer was certainly delighted with the dismissal with his fiery excitement visible in his animated celebration. It looked like Anderson was desperately waiting for this moment to unleash all his emotions as the pacer erupted with joy with his teammates.
