The Indian team scripted history by defeating England to lift the maiden ICC U-19 Women's T20 World Cup in Potchefstroom, South Africa. Under the leadership of Shafali Verma, the Women in Blue have been one of the most dominant teams in the tournament as they lost just one game. Similarly in the final, India was at their absolute best as they bundled out the English team for 68 runs. 

Titas Sadhu was the pick of the bowlers with a spell of two 2-6 in four overs. Like Sadhu, Archana Devi and  Parshavi Chopra also picked up two wickets, while other bowlers bagged one wicket each. Then in the batting department, Soumya Tiwari (24*) and Gongadi Trisha (24) scored as India registered a 7-wicket win. 

Indian fans were quick to flood social media with praiseful messages for Indian women.
