Rajasthan Royals (RR) fans are currently expressing intense frustration on X (formerly Twitter) following a series of matches in IPL 2026 where the team's massive 200+ scores have been insufficient due to a lack of breakthroughs by the bowlers. Fans are particularly vocal tonight (May 1) as RR set a massive target of 226 against Delhi Capitals (DC), only to see DC's openers reach 100 runs in less than 9 overs without losing a wicket. Fans have pointed out that even scores of 228 (against SRH on April 25 and PBKS on April 28) have left the bowling unit exposed, with only 5 and 4 wickets taken respectively.
The recurring theme on social media is a plea for the BCCI to move away from "highways" and prepare pitches that offer something for the bowlers. Despite having stars like Jofra Archer and Ravi Bishnoi, fans are disappointed that the unit is conceding runs at economies as high as 13.0 and 14.0 in crucial phases. Fans are increasingly calling for the BCCI to intervene, fearing that T20 cricket is becoming too heavily weighted toward batters.
KL Rahul always commands over Jofra Archer.. look how well he smashed 6 over him 🔥#RRvsDC #DCvsRR #RRvDC #DCvRR #IPL #RiyanParag #AxarPatel #Jaipur pic.twitter.com/EXkGK2iDh2

Again and again unnecessary changes by RR. There was no need for Bishnoi when Punja did good.

RR gets breakthrough in game as Pathum Nissanka gets out
Rajasthan Royals (RR) finally secured a much-needed breakthrough in today’s match against Delhi Capitals (DC) as Ravindra Jadeja dismissed the dangerous Pathum Nissanka in the 10th over. Jadeja broke a massive 113-run opening stand that was threatening to make a mockery of RR’s 225-run target. Nissanka attempted a reverse sweep but was trapped plumb in front. He opted for a DRS review, but ball-tracking confirmed it was hitting the off-stump.
Despite the wicket, Delhi Capitals remain in a strong position thanks to the solid foundation laid by the openers. KL Rahul has continued the momentum, reaching a classy fifty to keep DC slightly ahead of the required run rate. Nitish Rana has joined Rahul at the crease following Nissanka's departure.
