Delhi Capitals recorded their biggest chase in their history of the IPL as they defeated the Rajasthan Royals by a margin of seven wickets. The Capitals were hosted by the IPL 2008 winners in the 43rd league-stage game of the IPL 2026 in Pink City, Jaipur on Friday. The game saw Royals riding on skipper Riyan Parag’s impactful 90 and posted a new normal yet competitive total of 225 runs with the loss of six wickets.
While the target looked a bit distant for the Capitals at first, key contributions from the top batting order narrowed the gap. Pathum Nissanka and KL Rahul came up with 62 and 75 runs, respectively. Apart from them, Nitish Rana contributed 33 runs off 17 balls, whereas Tristan Stubbs and Ashutosh Sharma remained unbeaten at 18 and 25, respectively. With the overall contribution from the top and middle-order batting lineup, the Capitals were able to chase the total in the final over and put up an end to their three-game losing skid.
Not only this, but the win also marked the biggest ever chase for the Delhi-based franchise in the history of the tournament.
