According to sources, it is understood that Chelsea have completed the signing of 23-year-old striker Joao Pedro from Brighton. The Blues have signed the young Brazilian forward for a deal reported worth £60m. He is all set to sign a massive contract of seven years which lasts until 2032. And if so happens, he will be a lethal addition to the squad strengthening the attack alongside the new signing Liam Delap.
Chelsea have reportedly completed his medical in the US and have managed to register him in time, so that he can be a part of the squad for the rest of Chelsea’s fixtures in the FIFA Club World Cup 2025. Pedro provides many options for Chelsea as he can play as a centre-forward, second-striker or even as an attacking-midfielder, according to the game plan of Enzo Maresca.
Joao Pedro all set to make his debut for Chelsea at FIFA Club World Cup: Reports
Several reports also suggest that Joao Pedro’s medical was completed in order to have him play in the remaining fixtures of the ongoing FIFA Club World Cup 2025. It was stated by FIFA that a total of two players can be added to the squad from 27th June to 3rd July. Hence, Pedro can join the Chelsea squad in their quarter-final fixture against the Brazilian side Palmeiras. However, another Chelsea signing Jamie-Gittens from Dortmund cannot participate in the remaining fixtures as he has already played for Dortmund in the group stages.
Joao Pedro had a terrific season at Brighton in the last Premier League campaign scoring 10 goals and providing 6 assists in 27 matches for the Seagulls. His ability to move into deep areas and his work rate off the ball makes him a very technically gifted player.
