In a big update, Rajasthan Royals opener Jos Buttler might be ruled out of cricketing action after sustaining a finger injury during the side’s previous match against Punjab Kings. As per an update posted by Cricbuzz, Buttler will be missing the RR match against DC, which is set to take place on April 8 at the Barasapara Cricket Stadium. Further,  Buttler's participation in the tournament will depend on his  medical report.

It is to be noted that Jos Buttler sustained this injury while completing a brilliant catch in the penultimate over of the match against PBKS. Additionally, Buttler also did not come to open the innings alongside Yashasvi Jaiswal. Rather, it was all-rounder Ravichandran Ashwin who came to open the innings with Buttler walking in at number three.

However, it was later revealed by RR skipper Sanju Samson that the England batter has undergone multiple stitches in his right hand.  The 32-year-old played a crucial role in RR’s win in their opening match against Sunrisers Hyderabad. Buttler went on to score a well-made half-century along with Sanju Samson and Yashasvi Jaiswal also contributing to him with respective half-centuries.

Talking about RR’s performance so far in the competition, they are placed fourth in the points table with a win and a loss. While they won their opener against SRH, they lost their next game against Shikhar Dhawan’s Punjab Kings in Guwahati.
